The Tale of "Two Bunnies"...

Why I named my rabbitry "The Tail of Two Bunnies" is still unknown to me, because my "rabbitry" did not start with two bunnies; It started with one, and quickly grew to four. Eventually it will become even larger. Regardless... it is and always will be "The Tail of Two Bunnies" Rabbitry.

Back in January of 2010, I was diagnosed with depression. It's odd for me to openly admit this, but everyone has their weaknessess and hardships in life, some more than others, yet I can honestly say that my life is a whole lot easier than most. I won't go a lot into detail, but to put it simply, I was experiencing lots of numbness due to the loss of somebody I deeply cared about, as well as fearing the loss of a very close friend, who I ended up losing anyways.

After being diagnosed, I was asked if I would be interested in having a pet rabbit. I had loved rabbits since I was old enough to say "Bunny-Foo-Foo hopping through the forest". When I was about 7ish, my two siblings and I each got a Dutch rabbit, but we didn't spend much time with them. They were cute to look at and fun to play with, but often they were neglected. They all passed away at about 2-3 years old. I regret the lack of time I spent with them.

So of course, I enthusiastically replied with a yes, and within a couple weeks, I had Patches, the opinionated Mini Lop. About a month later, I was asked if I would possibly be interested in breeding rabbits. I laughed, and said yes, because I thought they were joking, but turns out they were serious. And so then came Milo, the loving Cross Lop, and Kaira, the sweet Holland Lop. Within a couple more weeks, I bought Blizzard, the inquisitive, BEW Holland.

Now here I am today, learning all I can to raise and breed rabbits in a way that will everlastingly keep them safe, happy, and  healthy. They mean the world to me. Not only did they help me conquer my depression, but they taught me how life doesn't always have to be so complicated.

Simplicity can be found in the simplest ways.

And real love is simple.
